Strømdal Design is a Danish owned boutique manufacturer of custom-made tables. The company is driven by passion for woodworking and environmental sustainability.
Strømdal Design offers more than solid rustic tables of the highest quality. We offer your home a living piece of Nature, with incredible History, character and Soul.
Each piece of the Strømdal Design furniture is handmade with attention to detail and furthermost with respect to the natural processes of Nature, which are crucial for the timber to be at the very best state/shape possible.
Our intention is to continue the life cycle of wood by shaping it into exceptional pieces and carry on its journey with purpose to create common bond and shared history with people. The energy natural timber caries and the life it breaths into the home it is welcomed is undeniable. Living matter has its soul and character developed over long existence, and the goal of Strømdal Design is to show the best qualities of it by right preparation and impeccable treatment during the variety of time-sensitive processes.
Strømdal Design controls all the processes from the sawmill to the final delivery in order to ensure treatment the wood deserves. The timber (primarily 320-350 year old Danish oak) drying process itself takes up to 3.5-4.5 years until the humidity level is right for the handcraft to begin. Each furniture piece takes up to 200-250 hours of manual work (the lead time for Strømdal Design tables is between 4-6 weeks).
Strømdal Design uses more than 400 year old Japanese technique of applying butterfly joints made from exclusive Venge wood, which prevents matter from cracking, twisting and turning. All Strømdal Design products have smooth finishing for delightful everyday use.
