Bridge presents one of the most famous bridges in Wrocław - Grunwaldzki. In 1904, a competition was announced for the design of a bridge that would connect both banks of the river near what is now Grunwaldzki Square. Nearly 40 designs were submitted, and the winning design was submitted by architect Martin Mayer and engineer Robert Weyrauch. Once called The Kaiserbrücke, or Emperor's Bridge, was built in 1910. It took two years to build, weighed over 2,000 tons, and was 20 meters wide. During the strength test, 24 trams and fire trucks were placed on the bridge.
