The Rio lounge chair is an armchair designed by Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer and his daughter Anna Maria Niemeyer in 1978.
Materials and fabrication:
The structure of this seat is made up of three curved elements. The first, the bigger one, serves as the balance point of the chair. The other two, which are screwed to the first, serve as a support to receive the backrest and the seat. The material of these three elements is very thin bentwood in black color. It is mechanically assembled at the base and glued to the head and foot supports.
