The fascination which the Fontana Arte Bilia holds for many is based on the supposedly incompatibility of its geometrical shapes. The table lamp, designed by Gio Ponti in 1932, combines a sphere made from hand-blown glass with a nickel-plated brushed metal cone, with the sphere sitting on the tip of the cone – a truly improbable composition. This turns the Bilia table lamp by Fontana Arte into an exceptional eye-catcher.
